HOW IT HAPPENED
= Brett Fitzgerald took a feed from Jake Bonifacio to put Kzoo up 1-0 with 13 minutes and 14 seconds left in the opening quarter, and Marquis followed with less than 2 minutes later.
= After a slow start in which it trailed 2-0 and didn't cross midfield until about 5 minutes gone, Adrian reeled off three goals in a 1:29 span to take the lead for good. Davison bookended a pair of goals around a marker by Schmitt that was worthy of a highlight reel play. Schmitt, a long-pole defender, caused a turnover and picked up the ground ball at midfield, then raced down the middle of the field, splitting the Hornets' defense, to get the game-tying goal.
= Sophomore Conor Redden scored what proved to be the game-winner to open the second stanza, giving the Bulldogs a 4-2 advantage.
= The Adrian defense held the Hornets scoreless in the second half, while the offense scored five times in both halves.
= The Bulldogs also enjoyed statistical advantages in shots (45-19), shots on goal (23-9), ground balls (32-19), turnovers (15-26), caused turnovers (9-5), clears (18-21, 18-23) and man-up goals (2-for-5, 0-for-5).
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
= Farrelly needs two saves to surpass Kevin Lerg (2011-14) for the school's career record of 486.
= Farrelly also leaped over Silverman for fourth place in MIAA saves with 121 this season.
= Davison leads the team with 30 goals and 42 points.
= The Bulldogs lead the all-time series over the Hornets, 2-0. Adrian won 8-3 at Kzoo in 2016.
= The three goals allowed tie a season low and the 15 turnovers are the fewest the Bulldogs have committed this spring.
