Box Score ALMA, Mich.--Senior Brett Farrelly became the all-time saves leader in Adrian College men's lacrosse history on Saturday, but host Alma College secured the No. 3 seed in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Tournament with a 20-5 win over the Bulldogs.

= Freshman Griffin Davison pumped in a team-high four goals.
= Farrelly posted a road season-high of 15 saves and added five ground balls to lead the Bulldogs.
= Junior defenders Michael Desmadryl and Caleb Vanderlugt contributed four and three ground balls, respectively. The latter also won 10 face-offs.
THE OPPOSITION
= Jake Ellens led all scorers with seven points on five goals and two assists.
= Austen Irrer (2g, 3a), Chase Hunyadi (5g, 1a), Jared Nycz (2g, 2a), Daniel Buchy (3g) and Mitch Adams (2g, 1a) had multiple-point afternoons.
= Cam Stelljes made nine stops to improve to 8-4 in the cage.
= Austin Jordan had game highs of six ground balls and two caused turnovers.
HOW IT HAPPENED
= Alma opened up a close 3-1 game in the second quarter by scoring eight of the 10 goals to go into the locker room with an 11-3 halftime lead.
= The Scots also had significant statistical advantages in shots (59-23), shots on goal (35-14), ground balls (44-24), caused turnovers (12-4), turnovers (17-24) and face-off wins (19-10).
= Freshman Todd Gipson-Goodnough fed Davison for the tying goal, 1-1, with 11 minutes and 23 seconds left in the first quarter.
= Alma scored two goals--Ellens on the man-up and Irrer--44 seconds apart in the final 1:35 to take the lead for good at 3-1 after 15 minutes.
= Schmitt opened the second quarter scoring with his MIAA-third-leading seventh man-up tally, but the Scots reeled off seven unanswered goals to take control.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
= Farrelly finishes his career with 500 saves, breaking Kevin Lerg's school record of 486 from 2011-14. Farrelly ended the regular season ranked third in the MIAA with 136 stops.
= Senior Cody Schmitt is the program's all-time leader with 114 caused turnovers. He also lists second only behind Mitch Barnard (2010-12) in career ground balls, 290-255.
= Davison is sixth in the conference with a team-leading 34 goals.
= Junior Michael Turner led the team with 22 assists among a career-best 38 points.
= Numerous Bulldogs set career highs in various categories this season: junior Callum Clark in goals (6), assists (4) and ground balls (37); Schmitt in goals (17) and ground balls (81); senior Matt Scherer in goals (12) and ground balls (23); and classmate Justin Polischuk in goals (8).
= Adrian still leads Alma in the all-time series, 4-2.
UP NEXT
= Adrian is expected to return all but seven seniors for the 2018 campaign, building on doubling its win total from the 2016 season.
