Box Score ADRIAN, Mich.--Oberlin College scored nine goals in the fourth quarter to pull away from Adrian College, 19-3, in the schools' non-conference men's lacrosse season opener on Saturday.

= Tom Decker led all scorers with six points on three goals and three assists.
= Steve Kelleher matched Decker with a hat trick.
= Jay Messina (1g, 3a), John Sutherland (1g, 2a), Jack Stevens (3a), Thomas Berle Carman (2g), Reese Koburov (1g, 1a) and Griffin Cappelletti (1g, 1a) also had a multi-point game.
= Max McAllister led all student-athletes with 14 ground balls and he was 18-for-21 in the face-off 'X.'
= Calvin Filson made seven stops and had two ground balls.
HOW IT HAPPENED
= Oberlin raced to a 5-0 lead in the first quarter and outscored the Bulldogs, 9-0, in the fourth.
= The Yeomen enjoyed other statistical advantages including shots (52-20), face-off wins (21-5) and ground balls (40-19).
= Messina scored what proved to be the game-winning goal off an assist from Sutherland with 3 minutes and 31 seconds left in the opening quarter, giving OC a 4-0 lead.
= Fifty seconds later, Decker closed the first-quarter scoring on a feed from Stevens and the Yeomen led by five goals.
= Trailing 6-0 in the second, Turner got the Bulldogs on the scoreboard with a man-up goal, unassisted, at the 10:08 mark.
= Oberlin led 8-2 at halftime and scored 11 of the 12 goals in the second half.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
= Oberlin defeated the Bulldogs for the first time in six all-time meetings. Adrian won 8-5 at home on March 19, 2014, the last time the schools met before today.
= The Yeomen are members of the fellow NCAA Division III North Coast Athletic Conference.
