Box Score ADRIAN, Mich.--Adrian College men's lacrosse senior keeper Peter Dugan recorded a career-best 20 saves in the Bulldogs' 14-4 non-conference defeat to Heidelberg University on Wednesday evening.

= Freshman Fernando Rodriguez netted a pair of goals on a team-high 10 shots to go along with three ground balls.
= Dugan's save total beats by five his previous high of 15, set during his 2016 sophomore campaign (vs Hope College on April 14).
= Seniors Michael Desmadryl, Michael Turner and sophomore Brayden Adrian had six ground balls apiece. Turner and Adrian also caused two turnovers each.
= Adrian also added to the offense with a goal and an assist.
THE OPPOSITION
= Liam Weaver (4 assists) and Matt Wernerspach (3 assists) led the Berg offense with a hat trick each, plus Brock Hodson led all scorers with five goals.
= Nick Selfridge, who chipped in two goals, was 5-for-7 in the face-off "X" and scooped up a game-high 10 ground balls.
= Christian Hieronymus and Jacob White helped the defense limit the Bulldogs to 15 shots on goal and they each had two caused turnovers.
= Alex Bruder (W, 5-2) got the win in the cage, stopping 11 shots and getting four ground balls.
HOW IT HAPPENED
= The Berg scored the first six goals of the game and never looked back.
= Heidelberg also enjoyed statistical advantages in shots (59-31), shots on goal (34-15), ground balls (44-37), turnovers (21-29) and clears (21-for-29, 13-for-25).
= The Student Princes scored three man-up goals in four chances; Adrian went 1-for-3.
= The Bulldogs got on the scoreboard with 2 minutes and 2 seconds left in the second quarter when Turner found Adrian for a man-up tally. Adrian leads the team with 10 goals this season.
= The Berg took control by scoring off the crosse of Weaver with 11 seconds before the half, sparking a 5-1 run into the third and an 11-2 cushion.
= Dugan helped keep the Bulldogs in the contest by making seven saves alone in the first quarter, when HU led only 2-0 after 15 minutes. The first-year starter made numerous sparkling stops with shooters at close range.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
= Adrian won 24-6 at Heidelberg last year in the schools' only previous meeting.
= The Student Princes are a second-year program out of the Ohio Athletic Conference.
= Dugan's 20 saves puts him over 100 (108) for his 17-game career and are the fourth-most in Bulldogs' single-game history.
