Box Score KALAMAZOO, Mich.—Host Kalamazoo College outscored the Bulldogs 11-1 in the second half to pull away for a 20-4 victory over Adrian College in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association men's lacrosse action on Tuesday evening.

= Senior Michael Turner, freshmen Kyle Sanderson, Fernando Rodriguez and sophomore newcomer Joey Colatarci scored for the Bulldogs.

= Jack Smith led all scorers with eight points on four goals and four assists.
= Brandon Wright tallied a game-best five goals and had seven assists.
= Brett Fitzgerald provided a hat trick.

HOW IT HAPPENED
= Holding on to a 2-1 lead after 15 minutes, Kzoo began to take control of the game by scoring eight of the nine goals in the second quarter for a 9-3 lead at halftime. Brett Fitzgerald and Jack Smith scored two goals apiece, with Smith adding two assists, during that decisive run.
= Fitzgerald tied it 2-2 with 13 minutes and 44 seconds left to open the second-quarter scoring. Smith followed 45 seconds later to break the tie and put the Hornets ahead for good.
= In the second half, Kzoo began by outscoring Adrian 5-1 in the third quarter to take a commanding 14-4 lead.
= After Smith scored at the 12:09 mark of the opening stanza, Adrian went ahead 2-1 on goals from Rodriguez and Colatarci. Rodriguez was cutting down the alley and fired the shot after receiving a pass from Turner behind the cage. Colatarci received an overpass intended for a teammate and ripped a shot from long range for his first career goal.
= The Hornets also enjoyed statistical advantages in shots (53-20), ground balls (45-26), face-off wins (18-10) and man-up offense (5-for-17, 1-for-5).
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
= Desmadryl has 136 ground balls for his career--one away from tying Lido Aldini (137, 2011-14( for fourth place in Bulldogs history.
= Classmate Greg Stewart has 33 career caused turnovers, which lists ninth in school history. Next up, No. 8 Brandon Parnham with 35 from 2012-15.
= Kzoo picked up its first win in the all-time series after the Bulldogs won the first two meetings last season (10-3) and 2016 (8-3).
