Box Score READING, Pa.--Junior Sha'Trice Graves posted game highs of 21 points and 17 rebounds on Saturday in the opening round of the Alvernia College Tournament, but it wasn't enough as the Adrian women's basketball team couldn't hang on to a 10-point lead in the first half and lost a 60-54 heartbreaker to Brooklyn.

= Junior Arjanae Morgan scored 11 points, grabbed six rebounds and had two steals.
= Graves finished 8-of-14 from the field and had two steals.
= Sophomores Rylee Campbell (7 points) and Addison Bergman (3) led Adrian with three assists apiece.
THE OPPOSITION
= Taylor George and Chanel Jemmott led Brooklyn with 13 points apiece, while Dasha Goodman came off the bench to net 11.
= Jemmott led the team with nine rebounds, followed by Sarah James with eight and Goodman, 6.
= Kayla Trembone was credited with five steals, while Michelle Pena and Goodman contributed three assists each.
HOW IT HAPPENED
= After the teams finished the first quarter tied 18 apiece, Adrian jumped in the second ahead by 10 points, 28-18, with 6 minutes and 31 seconds left when Graves converted a traditional three-point play on jumper and following free throw. Graves had seven points during that run.
= But Brooklyn closed the final 6:22 on a 13-4 run to close within 32-31 going into halftime. Goodman sparked it with a 3ball as Adrian went 1-for-8 from the field and committed two turnovers after posting its biggest lead of the contest.
= Brooklyn extended the run by scoring the first 5 points of the second half to go up 36-32. Brooklyn took a 49-43 advantage by the end of the third quarter.
= After a Graves free throw to open the fourth, Brooklyn went on a 7-0 run in a 1:36 span to earn its biggest lead of 12 points at 56-44.
= Adrian, however, responded on a 10-0 run to get within 56-54 and 18 seconds left in the contest.
= Brooklyn went 4-for-4 at the free throw line down the stretch to ice the win.
= Adrian made just 9 of 23 free throw attempts for 39.1 percent and had 20 turnovers that turned in to 19 Brooklyn points.
= Brooklyn dominated inside where it outscored Adrian, 34-20. Brooklyn also had 22 fastbreak points to six for Adrian.
= Despite the loss, Adrian dominated the glass by outrebounding Brooklyn 46 to 31.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
= Brooklyn competes in the City University of New York Athletic Conference.
= This marked the first-ever meeting between the programs.
= Graves' 21 points are a career-best and she was one rebound shy of her personal best.
= Adrian came into the contest as one of the best NCAA Division III field goal shooting teams, but shot a season-low .345 percentage today.

= Adrian will play Penn College, which lost 61-34 to the host Golden Wolves today, in the third-place game of the tournament at noon Sunday.
