Box Score RIVER FOREST, Ill.--Sophomore attack Chris French posted season highs for points (9), goals (5) and assists (4) to help propel Adrian to a 14-9 non-conference victory over host Concordia-Chicago in men's lacrosse action on Wednesday afternoon.

= Sophomore Max Leventis was dominant in the "X" by winning 16 of 24 face-offs with five ground balls.
= Classmate Devin Higgins helped a strong defense with team highs of eight ground balls and a game-best four caused turnovers.
= Sophomores Peyton Gasche (3g, 3a) and Travis Fox (3g, 2a) added six and five points, respectively. The latter chipped in four ground balls.
= Freshman goalie Ethan Krupp recorded a career-high 11 saves.
= Sophomore long-stick midfielder Christian Aurand contributed a season's high six ground balls.
THE OPPOSITION
= Brett Krueger led the CUC offense with a hat trick.
= Dylan Mordhorst also had three points with a pair of goals and an assist.
= Boston Dumas scooped up a game-high 13 ground balls, mostly after eight face-off wins. He matched Erik Allstatt with a goal and two assists.
= John Harris produced four ground balls and led the team with four caused turnovers.
= Keeper Jack Liskey tried to keep the Cougars in the game by stopping 18 Adrian shots.
HOW IT HAPPENED
= Adrian outshot the Cougars 50 to 29 (32-20 on goal) and was 4-for-5 on man-up situations.
= The visiting Bulldogs grabbed a quick 6-1 lead after the first quarter and held off a Concordia-Chicago rally in the third, but never relinquished the lead.
= After Krueger intercepted Krupp's attempted clearing pass that led to the game's opening goal by CUC's Gabriel Balcaen on a feed from Dumas, Adrian reeled off the afternoon's next six goals during a span of 10 minutes to take a comfortable 6-1 lead after 15 minutes. Freshman Brett Koczenasz ripped a shot from long range to tie it 1-1 for Adrian with 12 minutes, 53 seconds left and classmate Blake Born pounced on a loose ball in front of the cage to score his first career goal to put the Bulldogs ahead for good
= The Cougars opened the second quarter with a pair of goals by Krueger and they outscored Adrian 5-2 in the period to get within 8-6 at halftime.
= After Gasche scored unassisted at the 13:39 mark in the third quarter, Dumas and Dylan Mordhorst found the back of the cage 36 seconds apart to cut the AC lead to 9-8 with 11:14 remaining.
= But that's the closest the home team would get as Adrian answered with a 5-1 run to seal the victory. French led the response with four goals, including two man-up, during the final 23:03 covering the third and fourth quarters.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
= This was the first meeting between the programs.
= Concordia-Chicago is in its last year of the Midwest Lacrosse Conference before joining its primary conference, the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference, which is adding men's lacrosse for next season.
= French now has 55 goals in his career to move past Michael Turner (54, 2015-18) for 13th place on the school's all-time chart.
= Adrian has its best three-game start (2-1) since the 2015 team began 3-0.
