Men's Lacrosse Wraps up Non-Conference Season with Thiel

ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College men's lacrosse team has a light week this week with only one game to wrap up nonconference play. The Bulldogs take on Thiel College on Wednesday on the road prior to the start of conference play.

The Bulldogs sit on a three-game winning streak with a 23-4 win over Wabash, a 20-1 win over Heidelberg at a 9-1 win over Hanover. Adrian sits 7-2 on the season this year with a 3-1 record on the road where they will face Thiel. The road wins for the Bulldogs came against Lake Forest College, Wabash, and Heidelberg while losing to Kenyon.

The Bulldogs have outscored opponents 133-59 on the season so far and have outshot the teams they've faced 463-287. Adrian has recorded a power play percentage of .442 with 19 goals while opponents have scored just 10 man-up goals on 44 attempts.

Freshman Michael Jonas continues to lead the team in scoring with 22 goals on the season with 18 assists for a team-high 40 points. Chris French sits tied with Jonas for the team-high in points to go with 21 goals on 19 assists for Adrian. Peyton Gasche sits third on the team in scoring with 18 goals and 13 assists for 31 points.

On the defensive ends, Max Leventis leads the team in ground balls with 86 with the help of going 140-183 from the face off dot. Jake Coakley has recorded 28 grounds balls followed by 26 from Riley Edwards, 24 from Cameron Reed, and 21 from Trenton Garcia. Reed leads the team in caused turnovers with 20 followed by11 from AJ Hayes.

Sam Spangler has started all nine games in goal for the Bulldogs allowing an average of 6.89 goals per games. He's recorded 72 saves on the season with a save percentage of .581 and a 7-2 record.

Thiel comes into Wednesday's game with a 2-4 record on the season with wins over Medaille College and Heidelberg. The victory against Heidelberg came in a 7-6 double overtime battle at the beginning of March.

The Bulldogs look to move the winning streak to four games on Wednesday as they travel to Thiel College for a 7:00 PM face off in Greenville, Pa.
