ADRIAN, Mich. -- Adrian College Athletics and the Men's Lacrosse team have announced the hiring of Nick Peck as the team's new Assistant Coach.
Peck hails from Florida and was a goalie for Roanoke College's lacrosse team from 2005-2009. Peck also spent time as a captain for Roanoke College' men's ice hockey team in 2009. In his transition to coach, Peck was the Head Varsity Lacrosse Coach at George S. Steinbrenner High School in Tampa, FL from 2018 - 2020, while also teaching world history and US Government classes. He has also been working as a lacrosse skills trainer in Jupiter, FL since 2016. In 2022, Peck started as the Lacrosse Director at Camp Wayne for Boys.
Peck expressed his excitement to join the Adrian College men's lacrosse team by saying "Adrian's Men's Lacrosse Team is a program that can consistently compete at a national level. They are able to combine big-time NCAA Division - III athletics with top-notch academics that offer small classes to allow students to get to know their peers and professors. I knew right away that the Adrian College community was something I wanted to be a part of. I think I am able to bring a great amount of diverse experience and dedication to the program. My experience with being a NCAA contender while playing Lacrosse at Roanoke College will help us during tournament time and my intensity will keep us in the hunt every year. I am very excited to begin work with the Adrian College Men's Lacrosse Program. They have a very successful program and I am eager to help them continue that success. I am fortunate to be working with such a knowledgeable coach as Coach Wetzel and am looking forward to starting the new era of Bulldog Lacrosse!"
Head Coach Brett Wetzel had some strong words of excitement regarding the hiring of his new assistant: "We are delighted to announce the newest addition to our 2024 Adrian College Lacrosse staff—Coach Nick Peck. A distinguished former Roanoke College Lacrosse Goalie, graduating in the class of 2009, Coach Peck will take on the role of Offensive Coordinator. Boasting an impressive 19-year coaching career, Coach Peck brings an invaluable combination of expertise and enthusiasm to our team. Coach Peck's recent leadership as the Lacrosse Director at Camp Wayne for Boys, a venerable 103-year-old boys' summer sports camp, underscores his dedication to fostering growth and elevating skill development. He also has experience in the NCAA Tournament and competing in one of the toughest leagues in Division III. His success while coaching at the high school level in Florida also proves that he can be a successful leader for our program. He is the right man to help take this program to the next level. Coach Peck's wealth of knowledge and passion for the sport will play a pivotal role in the continued success of our lacrosse program. We eagerly anticipate the positive impact he will undoubtedly make on our team and players."
