CHERRY HILL, NJ. -- The Adrian Women's Rowing team traveled to the annual Knecht Cup regatta this weekend. The regatta is one of the largest Collegiate races of the Spring, and saw beautiful rowing conditions on Sunday.
Â
On Sunday, the Women's Varsity Four battled hard, ending up with a silver medal against a strong field of rival Mid Atlantic Rowing Conference crews. Getting off to a fast start, the race settled into a stroke for stroke fight, with the two leading crews leaving the pack far behind as they traded the lead throughout the course. With around a quarter of the race to go, Gordon College was able to creep away, but the Bulldogs finished the course off fast and ended up around 20 seconds ahead of four rival MARC crews to be the fastest conference boat of the day.
Â
"Sunday was a fantastic racing experience for the team," said Coach Pratt, "The racing was very intense and showed the progress we've made throughout the season so far. To be top of the MARC crews this weekend puts us in great shape to continue pushing towards the conference championships in two weeks, and I really feel that we can compete for a third consecutive championship win!"

The Bulldogs will be back in action next week at the Marietta Invitational!
