PRINCETON, NJ. – The Adrian College rowing team competed in the MARC Championships last weekend where they had another successful weekend.
The Men's V4+ consisting of
Sam Wyzlic,
Seth Parsons,
Kade Doyle,
Franco Van Oordt, and
Evan Barletta posted a time of 7:01.314 in their first heat to advance to the finals where they placed second with a time of 6:50.921. The Men's V2X team of
Dylan Cumberland and
Keegan Wade placed first in the final with a time of 7:35.350.
On the women's side, the Women's V2X team of Erika Johnson and Phoenyx Witte placed first with a time of 12:49.618. Halfway through the race, the duo's boat flipped, but the team recovered and finished the race.
The Women's V4+ of Addison Krzyzak,
Avery Kelley,
Avary Allstead,
Kaitlyn Kimble, and
Elizabeth Bowler won their fourth consecutive MARC Conference Championship. The team posted a time of 7:57.906 which is the fastest recorded time in the MARC Championship since 2017. The team finished 18 seconds ahead of the second-place team.
"This team has been through so much this year, and I'm incredibly pleased with the performance from all lineups this weekend," said head coach
Lucie Roy. "The women's 4+ taking home their fourth consecutive gold medal in their event with a program-best finish time was exciting to see and very well deserved. The men's 4+ still has another month of training to prepare for their IRA National Championships in June, and we hope to find some more speed during this training block. This was an excellent introduction to the post-season!"
Adrian's next contest will be on May 10-11 at the Dad Vail Regatta in Pennsauken, New Jersey.
