ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College Athletic Department has announced additions to the coaching staff for the Adrian College synchronized skating and figure skating teams. Athletic Director, Craig Rainey, has announced the hiring of
Kayleigh Mulligan as the head figure skating coach, and
Emily German as the assistant synchronized skating coach.
Mulligan graduated from Adrian College with a Bachelor in Language Arts with a focus in elementary education. During her time at Adrian, she was a member of the varsity collegiate and senior synchronized skating teams. She also spent time on the varsity intercollegiate team and was a three-time national medalist and a member of Team USA. In 2022, she was an Intercollegiate National Champion.
Mulligan served as captain of the collegiate synchronized skating team and was a choreographer for the open-collegiate team.
"I am thrilled to work with Adrian College Skating again," said Mulligan. "The Figure Skating program is very special to me as I was a member during my four years at Adrian. I look forward to watching this talented team grow and succeed in the upcoming season."
German will serve as the assistant coach to new appointed Director of Skating, Amanda Kennedy. German graduated from Adrian College with her undergrad in 2023. She was a member of the synchronized and figure skating team for four seasons where she was a member of Team USA for synchronized skating and team captain for figure skating. She received team awards for most improved, academic excellence, and Clutch Awards.
German was also involved in Alpha Phi Fraternity as the President of the Panhellenic Council, the Accounting Club as President, and the Mortar Board where she was a Golden Gavel Chapter.
"I'm so excited to give back to a team that I was a part of during my undergraduate career," German said. "Synchronized skating has been a huge part of my life and I'm looking forward to taking on a different role in the sport."
Mulligan and German will each begin their responsibilities immediately where they will begin to prepare for another successful season on the ice.
