ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Adrian College Men's Lacrosse team announced their leadership group for the 2024 season today, naming juniors AJ Hayes, Riley Edwards, and Michael Jonas as team captains.

AJ Hayes (Warren, Michigan) is heading into his third season as a defender for the Bulldogs. Last year as a sophomore, Hayes finished with 39 ground balls and 27 caused turnovers in 17 games played. Hayes will once again be a force for the Bulldogs on the back end this season.

Riley Edwards (Schomberg, Ontario, Canada) also begins his third season with Adrian, finishing last season as a sophomore with 6 goals, 5 assists, 35 shots, 31 ground balls, and 11 caused turnovers in 17 games played. Edwards will look to improve on his offensive numbers from last season and lead the Bulldogs to the MIAA tournament.

Michael Jonas (Holland, Michigan) enters his third season with the Bulldogs, the team that he led in goals last season as a sophomore with 54, one short of setting a new program record. Jonas also finished with 21 assists, 136 shots, 21 ground balls, and 8 caused turnovers in 17 games played. Expect Jonas to be a major offensive prowess for the Bulldogs again this season, looking to best his productivity from the impressive numbers he garnered last season and lead his team to the post-season.

Head Coach Brett Wetzel had nothing but good things to say about his new leadership group. "AJ, Riley and Michael have done a tremendous job of leading our program over the last two years and we can't wait to see where they are able to take us in the future. They each epitomize what it means to be a member of the Bulldogs Lacrosse team. I am very excited for them to have earned this opportunity to lead their team."

The Men's Lacrosse team will begin their season on February 21 at Docking Stadium against Ohio Northern University.
