ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Adrian College men's lacrosse team and Head Coach,
Brett Wetzel, have announced the program's 2025 Spring schedule, with play kicking off on February 15.
The Bulldogs are coming off a strong season last year, but are eager for more and hopeful to make that jump towards a conference championship. Last season, Adrian finished with a 8-8 record, including a 3-3 conference record. The Bulldogs advanced to the MIAA Tournament where they were bested by Hope College in the semifinals.
Adrian will face some tough opponents this season and will open 2025 on the road at top-ten nationally-ranked Christopher Newport University on February 15. The Captains finished last season ranked sixth in the entire nation, making it a highly-touted opening game for the Bulldogs. On February 18, the Bulldogs will then travel to Ohio Northern for a game with the Polar Bears. Last season, the Bulldogs defeated the Polar Bears in a thrilling triple-overtime game at Docking Stadium. Other non-conference match-ups include nationally-ranked Kenyon at home, Wittenberg, Transylvania, Spalding, Otterbein, Dubuque, Baldwin Wallace, Allegheny, and Illinois Wesleyan.
MIAA conference play will begin on April 2 when the Bulldogs host Calvin University. The Bulldogs will then travel to Hope, host Kalamazoo, hit the road to Trine, welcome Alma, and head on down to Albion to close the season. The MIAA Tournament will commence on April 26 with the newly added quarterfinal round, followed by the semifinal round on April 29, and the Championship on May 2.
Coach Wetzel was very excited when asked about his team's upcoming schedule, which includes some nationally-ranked and top-ten opponents.
"We are very excited to face some new teams and some top competition this season. Four NCAA Tournament teams on the schedule this season should help prepare us very well for a tough MIAA schedule to wrap-up the season."
