HUDSONVILLE, Mich. – The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) announced its Athletes of the Week on Monday afternoon. The Adrian College men's lacrosse team picked up the Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week, and Defensive Player of the Week. The Bulldogs finished the week with a 2-0 record with a pair of conference victories over Kalamazoo College and Trine University.
Michael Jonas was named the MIAA Offensive Player of the Week on Monday. Jonas finished the week with 13 points throughout the two games. Jonas earned seven of the points against Kalamazoo after scoring a pair of goals to go with five assists. Later in the week against Trine, Jonas racked up six more points with three goals and three assists.
Cameron Reed earned the MIAA Defensive Player of the Week award. Reed grabbed a goal and an assist on the week while picking up 21 ground balls. Reed picked up ten ground balls against Kalamazoo College and 11 ground balls against Trine University. In addition to his 21 ground balls, Reed caused seven turnovers on the week.
The Bulldogs currently sit at 7-6 on the season and 2-2 in MIAA play. The Bulldogs currently sit in fourth place in the conference standings. Adrian returns to action on Tuesday, April 23 on the road at Alma College for a 4:00 PM contest.
