ADRIAN, Mich. – Kathy Morris of the Adrian College women's basketball team announced her resignation as head coach of the Bulldogs to pursue other career opportunities. Morris spent 31 seasons coaching Adrian where she compiled a career record of 332-461 for a winner percentage of .419.
"We appreciate all of Coach Morris' hard work, dedication and commitment to our Women's Basketball program and our Athletic Department over her many years," said Athletic Director, Craig Rainey. "She has mentored and led many young women in our program and has been an outstanding role model to them. We appreciate all she has done for us and wish her the best in the next chapter of her life."
In 2012, Morris passed former head coach, Nancy Walsh, as the all-time wins leader in program history at Adrian College. During her time at the helm of the Bulldogs, Morris coach 12 First Team All-MIAA selections, two All-Americans, and four 1,000-point scorers. Morris led the team to multiple MIAA Tournament appearances while winning 179 MIAA conference games.
Morris was known for coaching a team that succeeded highly in academics as the Bulldogs appeared on the Women's Basketball Coaches Association Academic Top-25 Rankings multiple times including a 14
th ranked academic team in 2018-19 where the Bulldogs totaled a 3.591 GPA as a team.
In addition to her role of head coach of the women's basketball team, Morris served as the Adrian College Athletic Compliance Officer to multiple years where she assisted in eligibility of student-athletes and transfer students.
Katie Crawford will continue to serve as assistant coach of the Bulldogs. Adrian College will begin a national search for a new coach starting immediately.
