TECUMSEH, Mich. – The Adrian College women's golf team returned to action at home over the weekend, competing in the Irish Hills Invitational. This year marked the first time the event included a women's tournament. The Bulldogs placed fourth in the eight-team field, shooting 350 on Friday and improving with a 338 on Saturday for a two-day total of 688.
Savana Smith led the way for Adrian, finishing second overall with a two-day total of 160. She opened the tournament with an 82 and followed it with a 78 on Saturday. Ainslee Hewitt added rounds of 90 and 83 for a 173, while Rylie Yuhas shot a 177. Kennedy Kehres followed with a 181, and Mackenzie Schulz rounded out the starting five with a 185.
Adrian also fielded a second team, led by Abigail Trepkowski, who shot 173 with rounds of 86 and 87. Gillian Iles followed closely with a 175, while Sami Burks posted a 178. Taylor Kuhrt recorded a 186, and Addie Karpinski finished with a 188.
Three individuals also competed for Adrian. Ella Mason shot a 181, Kilee Duncan carded a 184, and Kaitlyn Olejnik finished with a 192.
The Bulldogs will open MIAA conference play at the first Jamboree of the season, hosted by Calvin University, on Monday, September 20 at 1:00 PM at Thornapple Pointe.
