Box Score ALMA, Mich.--On the strength of four Bulldogs scoring in double digits, the Adrian College women's basketball team wrapped up the 2016-17 campaign on a good note with a 69-59 victory at Alma College in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association action on Saturday.

TOP 'DAWGS
= Freshman Sadia Johnson led all scorers with 22 points.
= Sophomore Ashley Morris went for 12 off the bench and had six rebounds.
= Senior Brigitte Zavithsanos and sophomore Katie Crawford chipped in 10 points apiece.
= Crawford led all student-athletes with seven rebounds, followed by teammates senior Emilee Davidson and Morris with six each.
THE OPPOSITION
= Tara Padgett led the Scots with 15 points, and Abbigale Philipson pitched in 12 (6-6 FTs) off the bench.
= Kaitlyn Kendall pulled down six rebounds to lead her side.
= Madison Hill (9 points) dished out a game-high four assists, and Padgett added three steals.
HOW IT HAPPENED
= Leading 51-50, Adrian outscored Alma 18-9 in the decisive fourth quarter to pull away for the 10-point victory.
= Adrian pounded the glass by outrebounding the hosts, 46-32, and getting 13 second-chance points.
= The Bulldogs scored six more field goals than Alma (24-18), and got a huge boost from their bench scoring 30 points compared to 15 for the Scots.
= Adrian held the lead at the end of every quarter: 14-13 after the first, 35-23 at halftime and 51-50 at the end of three.
= Alma battled back from a 44-30 deficit in the third quarter after Morris knocked down a jumper with 6 minutes and 14 seconds remaining.
= Padgett and Philipson combined for 14 of their team's next 20 points to close the third on a 20-7 run. Adrian led 51-50.
= To start the fourth, Skylr Goodman (9 points) made a pair of free throws and Padgett followed with two more to give the Scots a 54-52 lead at 7:26
= Alma last led 55-54 on a Goodman free throw before senior Paige Machnacki knocked down a 3ball for her only points of the contest that put Adrian ahead for good, 57-55 with 5:59 to go.
= That bucket that was kept alive by a Crawford offensive rebound sparked a 7-0 Bulldogs run.
= Crawford made 6-of-6 free throws in the final 1:15 to preserve the win.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
= Adrian's 13-11 record (.542) is its best since the 2008-09 team fashioned a 14-11 mark, and the Bulldogs snap back-to-back losing seasons.
= The Bulldogs tied a season-high with 25 turnovers.
= Adrian also finished 8-8 in the conference last season.
