HOW IT HAPPENED
= Minaudo ripped an unassisted goal from mid-range with 3 minutes and 33 seconds left in the game to break a 9-all tie.
= Adrian had a good scoring opportunity to send the game into overtime. After Shane Prunty was whistled for an offside technical penalty to give the Bulldogs a man-up opportunity, Schmitt's shot from 10 yards out sailed just left of the cage with a second remaining.
= In a back-and-forth contest, Adrian took a 3-0 lead in the first quarter as Davison, senior Matt Scherer and freshman Alec Richards scored 3:38 apart beginning with the 6:51 mark.
= Logan Krieger got the Comets on the scoreboard with a man-up tally on a feed from Minaudo with 2:46 remaining. Adrian ended the first up 3-1.
= Olivet scored four of the five goals in the second quarter to take a slim 5-4 lead into the halftime locker room. The Comets evened the score 3-3 at 6:59 by taking advantage of an Adrian "own goal" when a defender misconnected on a backpass to the goalie and the ball went into the back of the cage.
= The Comets began the second half on a 3-1 run to go up 8-5 on Polendo's second goal of the afternoon with 8:48 to go in the third quarter, but the Bulldogs answered with four consecutive goals.
= Polischuk started the Adrian rally at the 7:15 mark and added another 4 minutes later. Turner also scored twice during that 4-0 run, as the Bulldogs led 9-8 going into the final quarter.
= The fourth stanza was scoreless until the 10:25 mark when Polendo scored his final tally of the game on a pass from Trevor Bailey, tying it 9-9 and setting the stage for Minaudo's game-winner late.
= Olivet also had slight statistical advantages in ground balls (32-29) and shots (44-41).
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
