Box Score ADRIAN, Mich.--In the first-ever meeting in men's lacrosse between Franciscan University and Adrian College, the visitors came away with a 16-9 non-conference victory on Saturday afternoon.

= Freshman Fernando Rodriguez netted a career-best four goals.
= Sophomore Brayden Adrian had two points (1g, 1a) and led the team with six ground balls.
= Senior Michael Desmadryl also had six ground balls and caused two turnovers.
= Classmate Greg Stewart chipped in five ground balls and two caused turnovers.
THE OPPOSITION
= Dan McCartney led all scorers with five goals among seven total points. He also led all student-athletes with 12 ground balls.
= Jonas McCaig (1 assist) and Mike Rosaschi (1 assist) added four and three goals, respectively.
= Matt Marrenna (W, 1-1) evened his record in the cage, making 15 saves.
= Luke Lyons won 18 of 26 face-offs.
= William Muraski posted a game-high three caused turnovers and contributed nine ground balls.
HOW IT HAPPENED
= Franciscan never trailed in building leads of 4-1 after the first quarter, 6-2 at halftime and 11-6 after 45 minutes.
= Muraski broke a scoreless tie to give the Barons a 1-0 lead with 7 minutes and 12 seconds left in the opening quarter. TM Thomas and McCartney extended it to 3-0 with tallies 34 seconds apart beginning at 5:57 showing on the scoreboard clock.
= Rodriguez started the scoring for the Bulldogs on an assist from Turner at the 5:02 mark.
= Trailing 8-2 in the second quarter, Rodriguez netted two goals as part of a 4-1 run to bring the Bulldogs within 9-6 with 5:31 to go before the intermission.
= But that would be the closest Adrian would get as Franciscan led 12-6 in the fourth before the hosts cut it again to three goals, 12-9.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
= This was the first meeting between the teams.
= Franciscan's official institution name is Franciscan University of Stubenville, and the Barons' men's lacrosse team competes in the NCAA Division III Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference.
= Turner moved into seventh place on the Adrian career assists list with 45, surpassing A.J. Smith who had 43 from 2012-15.
= Desmadryl advanced two spots on the Bulldogs' all-time chart for caused turnovers, now ranking tied for sixth with Zac Colvin (39, 2009-10,'12) with 39 apiece. In the process, he passed Nicholas Frontczak who made 38 from 2011 to 2014.
= Adrian set a team season high with 51 shots as well as tying with six assists--both set at Wilmington-Ohio (42 and 6) on March 17.
