Box Score ADRIAN, Mich.--Adrian College senior defenseman Michael Desmadryl had career highs of two goals and 13 ground balls, but it wasn't enough to offset a slow start by the Bulldogs in a 15-10 loss to Olivet College on Saturday to open the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association slate for both men's lacrosse teams.

= Junior Morgan Caldwell had three points (1g, 2a) and three ground balls.
= Senior Michael Turner scored a pair of goals and had as many ground balls.
= Sophomore Brayden Adrian blistered the cage with three goals from mid-range.
= Freshman Kyle Sanderson gave AC a solid effort in the face-off "X" with 10 wins in 20 attempts. He also tallied two goals.
= Sophomore newcomer Joey Colatarci, a defenseman for the Adrian men's hockey program, scored his first two points on assists of his two-game career as a college lacrosse student-athlete. He also had two ground balls and a caused turnover.
= Senior keeper Peter Dugan made 17 saves.
= Classmate Greg Stewart set a career-high with five caused turnovers to lead all student-athletes and contributed six ground balls.
THE OPPOSITION
= Connor Hamm scooped up a game-best 14 ground balls, forced a whopping eight turnovers and he scored a goal.
= Cameron Bazin (6 points) led all scorers with five goals, plus he had five ground balls.
= Justin Lamb (4), Casey Peterson (2) and Joshua Brantley also scored multiple goals.
= Goalie Jake Steele had six stops.
HOW IT HAPPENED
= Olivet zoomed ahead 6-1 after 15 minutes of play, and the Comets never trailed in the contest.
= After Lamb stretched OC's advantage to 9-2 with 10 minutes and 8 seconds remaining in the second quarter, Adrian scored five goals in a 4:59 span to close within 10-7 at the 4:33 mark. Sanderson sparked the comeback attempt with two tallies.
= In the third quarter, Adrian outscored Olivet 3-2 capped by Desmadryl's man-up goal to pull the Bulldogs within 12-10 with 3:11 to go.
= But the Comets sealed the win by scoring three insurance goals and shutting out the AC offense for the final 18:11.
= Olivet also had statistical advantages in shots (50-31), shots on goal (32-16), clears (25-for-27 to 18-for-30), ground balls (44-32) and turnovers (21-33)
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
= Despite Olivet's third-straight win against the Bulldogs, Adrian still leads the all-time series 4-3.
= Desmadryl's 13 ground balls this afternoon are the fifth-most in Adrian single-game history and best mark since March 17, 2012, when Mitch Barnard had 14 at College of Wooster.
